EROI MA PRIGIONIERI. LETTERA DI UN INFERMIERA.

INFERMIERI EROI, infermieri-eroi-ma-prigionieri,

EROI MA PRIGIONIERI. LETTERA DI UN INFERMIERA.

Eroi si ma non liberi d tornare a casa e aggiungiamo con  uno stipendio mortificante prigionieri  del comparto sanità.

A colleague sent us a beautiful letter where all her discontent emerges regarding an absurd situation that Italian nurses have been experiencing for more than twenty years.

Heroes yes, but not free to return home and, we add, with a mortifying salary, prisoners of the healthcare sector.

I am a 38-year-old nurse and since 2016 I have been working outside my region.
I am writing to draw your attention to a situation that, as far as I am concerned, is becoming more and more unbearable every day. I, like many other colleagues, have found ourselves forced to move away from our families in order to have the opportunity to get a permanent position and, as I said above, we have been far from home for years without the possibility of getting closer to our loved ones.

What is shocking are the STABILIZATIONS that are currently being granted in the center-south. In fact, unlike many nurses who, like me, in order to obtain a permanent position and aspire to a more economically stable future, have chosen to accept, albeit reluctantly, work contracts far from home, there are other colleagues who, without having participated in any competition, find themselves, due to Covid-19, magically hired on a permanent basis just steps from home.
At this point, it does not seem to me that actions are being taken on a meritocratic basis.
I am a married woman, and my husband and I travel hundreds of kilometers every week, with considerable financial expense, just to spend a little time together in the hope of eventually being able to return under the same roof. However, it seems that the more time passes, the worse the situation gets.

They call us heroes for a job we freely chose, for a job we do with passion, but unfortunately in recent years, given the treatment we receive, we are wondering if it is worth continuing to do it.

The 100 euros may be gratifying but we would gladly do without them if our rights were respected.

Moreover, with Covid-19, travel is not allowed, so in addition to the stress of work there is also this highly demoralizing aspect; in this regard, I am waiting for new instructions to understand if I can return to my residence after 03/05.

Another aspect I would like to bring to your attention concerns the many companies that proceed with stabilizations or fixed-term hires because they claim not to have active rankings; this is not always the case because in January 2019 I participated in an extra-regional mobility competition for the Marche region, the ranking of which, however, has NEVER been published.

Hoping that this letter will be taken into consideration, I send my best regards.

A nurse working outside her region who would like to return home.
